Participants of the 10-day Tertiary Entrepreneurship Training (TET) in Agribusiness, organised by the Nutrition and Sustainable Agri-food Collaborative, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation (Nkabom Collaborative), have described the programme as a transformative milestone in their entrepreneurial journey.

Rose Yofaatey, one of the 80 tertiary students selected for the intensive training, captured the essence of the programme’s impact:
“I realised that most of us try to solve problems based on assumptions. Through this programme, I learnt to first analyse the problem, draw the problem tree, and identify the right target before providing solutions. It taught me to think entrepreneurial.”

For Enoch Owusu Tetteh, the training was a revelation:
“When I came, I had ideas and aspirations to start a business, but I didn’t know that entrepreneurship begins with identifying a problem and solving it. This programme empowered me to look at problems differently, and I am hopeful for a brighter future.”
The TET programme didn’t just teach business, it reshaped mindsets. Through lectures, workshops, and hands-on exercises, students were guided to explore the agricultural value chain, uncover gaps, and design viable solutions rooted in evidence and empathy.
Professor William Otoo Ellis, Principal Investigator for the Nkabom Collaborative, commended the students for their commitment and urged them to carry forward the lessons gained. He emphasized the importance of applying entrepreneurial thinking to real challenges, especially in agribusiness, a sector ripe with opportunity and impact.
The TET initiative implemented by the Entrepreneurship pillar under the Collaborative is part of a broader effort to empower youth through capacity building, innovation, and sustainable development. By equipping students with practical tools and a problem-first mindset, the Nutrition and Sustainable Agri-food Collaborative, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation (Nkabom Collaborative), are nurturing a generation of changemakers ready to transform agriculture and beyond.
